UPS- United in the Spirit of Giving

Women Helping Women (WHW) was honored to host UPS as our first Corporate Volunteer Team for 2008! “What appeals to UPS about WHW is diversity in service: much-needed clothing, skills, coaching and support to enable them to get back into the workforce,” stated Annie Peal UPS So Cal District Employee & Community Relations Manager.

First, twenty enthusiastic men and women involved in UPS’s Women’s Leadership Development held their monthly meeting in WHW’s newly-acquired second facility in Costa Mesa. Afterwards, they all joined together and volunteered in WHW’s Donation Processing Center for about two hours. Their volunteer efforts assisted WHW in processing massive amounts of donations to ensure that all the clothing was quality-controlled and in ready-to-wear condition for WHW’s clients.
